Jackson, MS. This Thursday, July 18,
staff from State Treasurer Lynn Fitch’s office will be available at the Calhoun
County Multi-Purpose Building to help area residents search the State’s
unclaimed property list and file claims for their funds.
“It is thanks to partnerships like this one with the Calhoun
County Board of Supervisors,” said Treasurer Lynn Fitch, “that we have
distributed $98 million in unclaimed property to residents and businesses since
I took office in January 2012. That is a tremendous economic stimulus for
our State. And, every dollar returned has the potential to change a
life.”
Unclaimed property specialists from the Treasurer’s office
will be available:
Thursday, July 18,
2019
3:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Calhoun County Multi-Purpose Building
121 Parker Street, Pittsboro (on Highway 9)
“We are excited to work with Treasurer Fitch and her
unclaimed property team,” said Barney Wade, President of the Calhoun County
Board of Supervisors. “We want to make it as easy and convenient as
possible for the citizens of Calhoun County to get their fair share of this
unclaimed property. I encourage residents to check the list for their
name, family names, and business names and come claim your money."
Staff will be available to help people search the State’s
unclaimed property list and begin the claims process. Individuals
planning to attend are encouraged to bring the following to expedite their
claims:
- Photo ID (driver’s license, passport, military
ID card, etc.)
- Your Social Security Card
- Proof of address (utility bill, etc.)
- Proof of name change (marriage license, divorce
decree, etc.)
- If the owner is deceased, bring the death
certificate, will, obituary, or affidavit of death
Individuals can always check the State’s full listing at www.treasurerlynnfitch.com to see
